Biography

Evelyn was born 5 May 1929 to Lucy Ford in Russell, Kentucky.[1][2] Her father was R D Gaskin, whom her mother probably did not marry.

In 1940, Evelyn Ford, age 10, was living with her grandparents, William P Ford, age 69, and Nina / Vina D Ford, age 69, in Russell, Kentucky. [3][4]

Evelyn Ford, daughter of Lucy Ford, married John M Pulliam, son of Effie Pulliam, on 13 Feb 1945.[5] John died Oct 16 1958. They had three children.

In 1950, Evelyn / Eleva Pulliam, age 21, was living in Parksville, Boyle, Kentucky. She was separated at the time, living with her 3 children: 'Danny', age 4, 'Davis D' / David D, age 2, and a daughter B, age 1.[6]

Evelyn Pulliam, age 29, daughter of R D Gaskin and Lucie Ford, married Elmo Jefferson Wells on 9 Mar 1959 in Fentress, Tennessee.[7] They may have married in Sep 1952, according to Elmo's obituary when he died 21 Aug 1961. It stated that they had five children.[8]

Evelyn Akers married Jack Cargill Turrell on 9 Sep 1983 in Clark County, Nevada. Marriage was recorded 20 Sep 1983.[9][10]

Evelyn Turrell died 4 Jul 2000. Her last residence was in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana. She passed away in 2000.[2][11]

Evelyn Gaskin Turrell's obituary was published 7 Jul 2000 in the Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis, Indiana. She was age 71. Her spouse Jack Turrell was mentioned, as well as 4 children and 4 siblings.[12]

There is a memorial for her in Concord Cemetery, Karlus, Russell County, Kentucky with her husband Elmo Wells.[13]

She was buried next to her fourth husband, Jack Turrell in Palm Memorial Park, Las Vegas, Nevada.[14] Note that some husbands and children are connected to each Find a Grave page.

On her Find A Grave page, there are lots of sources that she used both last names. In her marriage records, she used Gaskin. In some of her children's records, I see Gaskin. Her obituary used Gaskin. If you are absolutely sure it should be Ford, I have no problems changing it or we can change it to be left initially blank as she did use both last names.

Gaskin should probably remain in the Other Last Name field since it is seen in the Obituary and one of the Find a Grave pages, but it is not in any source she would have created while she was alive.
