Hi, Thanks for your interest to learn more about me and what I'm searching for. I am Black American female born in the 1960's. I never met either of my grandparents because they were deceased by the time I was born. My grandparents were born around the 1890's. Searching for my great-grandparents is a task since I do not know their names and more than likely they were among the first generation not born in slavery. My pathway of finding information often times is not on the beaten path. School records, City Directories, etc. normally do not yield any information for me as I am in the South and records were not kept at that time. So, any off beat information about Black in the South might me helpful to me. Thanks for listening.
