Biography

Catherine Ford was born in 1857 at Wirksworth, Derbyshire, England. She was the daughter of John Ford and Lydia Botham. Her birth was registered in the 4th quarter of 1857 at Belper, Derbyshire.

In the 1861 England and Wales census, she was in a household at St Jose Street, Wirksworth, aged 3, with her parents, 3 siblings, and 2 coopers employed by her father.

In 1862, aged 4, she migrated to New Zealand by the ship Echunga, travelling with her parents and 3 siblings.

On 23 May 1881 at St John's Church, Christchurch, she married Everard Cecil Farr.

She passed away on 6 June 1885 at Mayfield (Mayfield Avenue?), St Albans, Christchurch, aged 27. She was buried at Addington Cemetery, and her sister Hannah was buried in the same plot in 1926.
