Harry Forbes is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois.

Harry was born in 1862. He was the son of Alexander Forbes and Elizabeth Ostrum. ^[1]

He attended the University of Michigan and was a member of the Zeta Psi Fraternity. ^[2]

He took over the family iron foundry.

He married Hannah Paterson in 1891. ^[3]

Harry passed away in 1911. ^{[4] [5]}

Obituary

Harry Faris Forbes was born October 11, 1852, the son of Alexander D. and Elizabeth Ostrum Forbes. The Forbes family has been identified with Rockford since 1852 and the foundry in which Harry succeeded his father.

He died Nov. 19, 1911 in his home at 945 N. Main St.

He was a graduate of University of Michigan 1884.

His widow survives and is at present in Tucson, Arizona, with her daughter, Mrs. Wait Talcott. There were also two brothers, Walter A. Forbes and George O. Forbes, both officers of the Rockford Malleable Iron Works, of which Harry F. Forbes was president. He was also president of People’s Bank and Trust company, in which he succeeded his father. He was a trustee of Rockford College.^[6]
