Biography

Born June 7, 1911 in Boalsburg, PA, he was a son of the late Franklin and Mary Taylor Flory. He married to Carrie Rose Parker who died August 15,1986. He was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Army. He worked for Toftrees Resort in yard maintenance until he retired in 1975. He was a life member of Pleasant Gap American Legion. He enjoyed gardening and cutting wood. He is survived by five daughters, Mary Zonge and her husband Gilbert of Williamstown, NJ, Stella Garman of Spring Mills, Emma Harpster of Centre Hall, Frances Spicer and her husband Joseph of Milton, and Mary Ann Flory of State College; two sons, Clarence Florey and his wife Marjorie of State College and Ralph Flory and his wife Mildred of State College; one sister Emma Cramer of Hollywood, FL; one brother Franklin Flory and his wife Eleanor of State College; 25 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 31 greatgreat-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 30 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Catherine Hockenberry and a son James Flory.
