Truman Flock was born in Appalachia, in Alabama. See Appalachia Project.
Fonty Flock was an American stock car racer who won the National Championship Stock Car Circuit championship in 1947.
His brothers Tim Flock and Bob Flock also raced in NASCAR, as did his sister Ethel Mobley (who was NASCAR's second female driver). The Flock family were pioneers in NASCAR and had an illegal moonshine business.
