Greetings Debbie,

I am a living Broadbent( now Staggard) who is a direct descendant of Luke Broadbent who arrived in South Australia on HMS Buffalo in 1836. Have found family research is never ending and yet so rewarding. Where does the Broadbent name fit into your ever spreading tree?

Hi Helen,

I don't tend to do much work on my tree on Wikitree anymore as i concentrate on ancestry.com. I can only see a few Broadbents on my tree and that is Mark and Charlotte Broadbent and their children (all living). Is this the Broadbents you were refering to in my tree? Their connection to me is through Charlotte and the Lowe family. If it was someone else you were refering to let me know. Good luck with your research Helen. Deb

Hello David,

I am interested in the Magna Carta project due to the fact that i am a direct decendant from many of the barrons as well as King John. I would like to be an affiliate member of the project. Thank you to all the members for the work you are doing.

Deborah Hiskins

Hi again Debbie

Did you add the Affiliate sticker to your profile ? I can't tell because of your current privacy settings. Welcome to the group/ We are very happy to have you join us !

I am not sure how add the affiliate badge.

Deb

Hi Debbie

Just add {Member|Magna Carta Affiliate}} to your profile under the Biography heading, That will add the sticker to your profile Just be sure to add another { at the front of the code. I had to remove one to get it to display as code in the comment box. If you have trouble let me know.

Hi Debbie.

I have been researching some of my Irish ancestors and just discovered that a distant relative, "Francis John Tanner", came to Australia and married Alice Hawthorn Fleming. Francis Tanner's mother was Hester Hogan. Her brother, Philip Hogan, was my great-great-great grandfather.

I saw on wiki tree and Ancestry that you have some photographs and information about Francis Tanner and his descendants. I would love to discuss and share the information we both have if you would be interested!

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Jessica

Please could you either set the privacy level for Eliza Jane North (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/North-1606) to "Open" or add me to the trusted list, so that I can add sources for this profile?

Hi Debbie

Congratulations on your Pre-1700 Self-Certification! Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Or you're interested in a particular time period, location, or topic ? Let me know. I can help you figure out if any Projects fit your interests and introduce you to the Leaders.

Projects are a great way to collaborate on your ancestors' profiles and learn the naming conventions and other standards used for profiles from particular places and time periods.

Have you read Research Before Editing? The Sources Style Guide is also essential reading for working on pre-1700 profiles.

Have fun

Maryann ~ Volunteer Coordinator

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.

Hey Debbie,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Mags, WikiTree Mentor
