Samuel Fisher is Notable.

Samuel was the son of Joshua Fisher and Sarah (Rowland) Fisher. He was a merchant in Philadelphia.[1]

In 1773, Samuel and two of his brothers, "merchants of Philadelphia," purchased property in Delaware from his cousin Elizabeth Fisher Rodney and her husband Thomas Rodney. The property was a large amount of marsh on Fishers Island that had belonged to Samuel's uncle Jabez Maud Fisher.

In 1785, Samuel's cousin Daniel Dingee made his cousin, Samuel Rowland Fisher co-executor of Daniel's will and guardian to his two minor sons, Daniel and Charles.

Samuel married Hannah (Rodman) Fisher. They had three children:

  1. Sarah (Fisher) Corlies,
  2. Deborah (Fisher) Wharton,
  3. Thomas Fisher.

Whereas Jabez Maud Fisher died 13 September 1772 and bequeathed property to his three daughters Margaret Fisher, Sarah Fisher, and Elizabeth Fisher (now the wife of the said Thomas Rodney and party hereto) ; Margaret and Sarah died and Elizabeth has survived them and has become seized of the whole 400 acres.
