Biography

Ann (aka Anny) Birney Fish, the daughter of Thomas Fishand Winafred Birney was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina, USA on 16 Feb 1785. She died on 13 August 1862 and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery Mount Vernon, Rockcastle County, Kentucky, United States of America. ^[1]

On 2 December 1805 she married William M. Smith in Madison Kentucky. Their children include: Pendleton Fish Smith, Glatha Ann Smith Maret, George, Washington Smith, William M. Smith, Alfred Smith, Thomas J. Smith.^[2]

In 1850, 66 year old Ann, a widow was living in the Northern District of Rockcastle, Kentucky, United States. Listed in her household was Jos M Smith, 26, Thos Hazlewood, 16, and Josephus Hazlewood, 15.

In 1860, Ann Smith, 76, a widow was living in Mount Vernon, Rockcastle, Kentucky, Her real estate at the time was valued at $5,000 and her personal estate at $1,000.

Her husband William passed away in 1849 and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery Mount Vernon, Rockcastle County, Kentucky, United States of America.
