Thank you for joining us! I wanted to check in with you to see how things are going. How do you like WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How To Pages been helpful or have they left you with questions?
I see you have been very active already. Please not the message by Butch below as well: Profiles for pre-1700 people have to have good sources. Just the line "German Familtree" does not qualify. Please add the documents, their access number of pagenumbers as the sources, or other proof. There is a good active group working on German profiles. They can help you find sources and show you how to cite them correctly.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear that WikiTree has not been contributing to your tree. The fun I always have with WikiTree is that there is actually only one tree, and we are all contributing to it. That will save us all a lot of work in the end. I am sure the tree you have there has all the sources listed, the names of the church records and the photos of the headstones. If you add those to the profiles, you are actually sourcing them.
German should not be a problem. WikiTree is a global community with many members from Europe and Germany. They are always happy to help.
DNA has its own merits. As a biologist I am interested the 22% claim, but more in the margin with that number. German is a very relative area. I love this video on the history of European countries/regions.
You can read more about the use of DNA matched on WikiTree here. But remember: this all uses the sourced profiles and their links present already in the database.
Please let me know if you have any questions about WikiTree.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
The Germany Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
