Henry Joseph Field was born on October 19, 1895[1] in Young, Colony of New South Wales, son of Robert Richard Field (1869–1951) and Florence Alberta Houghton (~1873–1935).

Henry married Josephine Lee (born on December 15, 1895 in Townsville, Queensland, Australia; daughter of Richard Lee and Annie Natal (Williams) Lee). Their son was William Albert Edward Field (1924–2008).
Henry died on December 21, 1960[2] in Katoomba, New South Wales, Australia, aged 65.
