Ada is not the daughter of Albert Fields. She is the daughter of Annie Dowton & Ebenezer John Jack Illiffe, who was born in 1832 in Monks Kirby, Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom & died in Albury in 1903. He was married twice also. He looked after his daughter paying his way for her & left her an inheritance. Annie was not a nice person, she was a liar, a thief & a murderer. She took up with Fields on his scandelous greedy endeavours & left a trail of destruction from when they were ran out of Yelthome / Bathurst area, all the way down to Narooma. She murdered several of her sisters children who belonged to Albert Fields & even reported her sister to the authorities. Annie murdered her sister Emma, who followed her & Fields to Narooma & had taken off with Albert Fields & their 2 children on the Steam Boat Kiama. It is reported that Emma's remains were found washed up on a beach near the Golf Club from where they had buried her. This was after Annie had taken out an order against Fields to return to her immediately, stating her had absconded/deserted her & their children. Annie only kept Ada around for the money that Illiffe had left her, she mistreated Ada & was a nasty person. She was never married to Fields ever & they lived their lying lives out until their death. Evidence is all in the police reports, trials & court cases against both Annie & Fields. They deserved each other.
