Lois was born in 1930. She was the daughter of Melvin VanBrunt Field (1902-1953) and Dorothy May (Neill) Field (1904-abt.1969)
In 1940, she was living with her parents, sister and maternal grandmother in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. [1]
She spent most of her life in New Jersey, living briefly in Emporium, Pennsylvania in about 1960. She married Leslie R Cox in 1955. They met when they were both singers in churches in the 1940s. They were members of the Donald Gage singers, She had 4 children ,Nancy Wilson, Leslie Cox III, Lelia (Cox) Muckelston and Laura Ritter, and was a devoted mother and grandmother of 8. Her main focus in life was her family and church. She was a trained soprano and singing was important throughout her whole life.She loved to sew, quilt, and crochet. She spent the last 30 years of her life in Pompton Plains, NJ and was an active member of the First Reformed Church there.
Her ashes are buried in the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains Cemetery.
