Rachel Feinger was born on November 2nd, 1903, in Mamuret in the Ottoman Empire (now Elâzığ, Turkey.) She was the daughter of Leib Feinger and Beila (or Rebecca) Braunstein. The family emigrated to Paris, France, between 1910 and 1912.


In the early 1920s, Rachel lived with her parents at 43, rue de Montreuil, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. She worked as a seamstress. In 1923, she married Haim Boruch Bension Esrikman, a Polish immigrant. The civil wedding took place on May 29th at noon, in the 11th arrondissement's townhall. The witnesses were Salomon Fingher, cutter, and Lazar Silny, lessor. Rachel's parents were both present.[1] The religious wedding took place on June 3rd, at 4:15, in the Nazareth synagogue, in the 3rd arrondissement.[2]

Mrs Esrikman was naturalized French on April 1st 1948.[3]
