JOHN FIELD (John, William, John, Richard, William, William) b. Providence, RI about 1645; m. there Elizabeth Everden, dau. of Hon. Anthony, also d. in Providence in 1687. She d. before 1698. He d. in 1698.

Anthony EVERDEN Austin in his Genealogical Dictionary gave the following information:

May 1666Anthony swore the oath of allegiance

1670Anthony was made Freeman

May 8, 1671He was fined 20s for not attending the Grand Jury

1667-72He served on the Providence Town Council

1667, 68, 71, 72He served as Deputy to the General Court

October 18, 1671His warehouse being broken into by an Indian, the latter was indicted.

Sept. 1, 1687Taxed 8s for the estate of Anthony Everden

Dec 22, 1713Heirs of Anthony Everden had bounds of land revised - situated near Benedict Pond.
