Andreas Eriksen Sann was born 16 Feb 1826 at Tjernet, under the farm Kjensmo in Udnes parish, Nes, Akershus, Norway. He was the son of Sergeant Erik Larsen Sann and Marte Olsdtr, and was baptized on 2 Apr. [1][2]
The 1865 Norway Census records him as lodging with his brother Gorenius at Tjernet still unmarried. [4]
In 1867 Andreas took over the farm Nordre Skirset (got Auksjonsskjøte for 1500 spd). He was also user of Tronrud (under Store Huseby) in Blaker, (Romerike) in Akershus. [5]
On 3 Mar 1870 he married Inger Kristine Andersdatter from Søndre Skirset [6] and they had the following four children: [7]
Markus Eilert b. 1871.
Mathilda b. 1873.
Hans Adolf (1875-1961) took over the farm in 1901.
Karl Ingvald b. 1885.
Andreas passed away on 3 Feb 1893 at Nordre Skirset, Udnes, Nes, Akershus, Norway, and was buried on 16 Feb. [8]
Research Notes
On Gustav's baptismal certificate the farm name reads "Son." Digitalarkivet has transcribed the Nes parish record as "Sand." [9]
If you look at the scanned record closely that is probably the correct transcription. It is interesting that the parish record for his death also spells his name "Andreas Eriksen Sand."
One factor that helped determine that this was the correct Andreas Eriksen was that a search for "Andreas Eriksen" in both volumes 3 and 4 of the Nes bygdebok turns up no results. In volume 5 the search brought up one result: "Andreas Eriksen" Sann.
