ELLISON ENOCH E BLACKSBURG - Enoch Edward Ellison age 84 died Thursday October 17 at Montgomery Regional Hospital Mr Ellison completed his pre-law in 1929 at West Virginia University his LLB in 1934 and LLM in 1938 at George Washington University his BS in Public Administration in 1940 at American University rom 1938 to 1942 he was a District Court Attorney rom 1942 to 1947 he was Chief of the Court of Claims Section Civil Division In 1947 he was Special Assistant to the Attorney General and Chief of the General Assignment Section Civil Division He was a member of Sigma Nu Phi Alpha Delta and the Blue Lodge Mason Surviving are his wife Ann Ellison two sons John Edward Ellison Chevy Chase Md Enoch Arthur Ellison Aspen Hill Md one granddaughter Melinda Ann Ellison ' Chevy Chase Md one grandson John Ryan Ellison Easton Md A graveside service will be Saturday October 20 2:00 pm in Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley W Va Arrangements by Hoy-McCoy uneral Home.^[8]

Former US official Enoch Ellison dies BLACKSBURG — Enoch Edward Ellison who worked for the US Justice Department for four decades died Thursday at age 84 Ellison a native of Beckley WVa joined the Justice Department in 1 934 The previous year as a result of an article he wrote in the George Washington University Law Review the Justice Department borrowed him from another government agency to help defend ranklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal legislation Among other things Ellison worked on compensation for Japa-nese-Americans whose property was confiscated by the government during World War IL Ellison moved to Blacksburg in 1973 when his son entered Virginia Tech But he didn’t retire from the Justice Department until 1975 During those two years he kept an apartment outside Washington and drove to Blacksburg on weekends Survivors include his wife Ann Ellison and two sons who live in Maryland A graveside service will be today at 2 pm in Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley WVa Hoy-McCoy uneral Home is handling the arrangements.^[9]
