Biography

Bartlett was born in 1846 in the parish of Marnock, Banffshire, Scotland. Bartlett Ellis had between 19 and 21 children via 3 wives. He married Helen Higgie in 1876.^[1] He passed away on the 21st of February 1914 in Dunedin.^[2] He was buried in Northern Cemetery.

Research notes

His probate records indicate only one wife according to William Ellis and Alexander Ellis. With other children named as Francis Alfred Ellis, George Ellis and Katherine Dowse.
