I do not have a connection to David Ellis. My interest in the surname Ellis has to do with my wife's family connection to the Ellis line that settled in Burlington & Camden Counties in New Jersey in the 17th century.
I have a keen interest in the history of Jamestown as I live between Jamestown & Colonial Williamsburg.

I've been doing research for a few years now. My focus now is on my maternal grandparents. My maternal grandfather was born in Roscommon Ireland and immigrated to Charleston in 1844. My maternal grandmother was born in Bremerhaven Germany and immigrated through Ellis Island in 1864.
