Alma Lois Ellington Bellamy, age 81, of Morehead, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Lisa.
Born Feb. 1, 1929, in Rowan County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late William Taylor and Mildred Marie Williams Ellington.
Alma received her B.A. degree from Morehead State University. She was a former Rowan County teacher at Tilden Hogge and Morehead Grade School, was an employee of G.T.E for 11 years, and ended her professional career with Bellamy Insurance. Alma was an avid U.K. basketball and NFL football fan. She enjoyed Red Hatter events, was a former league golfer and bowler, and for many years, she and Harold enjoyed ballroom dancing with various groups across the state. She was a member of the First Church of God.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Ellington, James Lowell Ellington, and Donald Ellington.
