Hi Daniel

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unknown-473312

Caroline's maiden name was Stone, as per the sources on her profile

Could you please amend her Last Name at Birth or add me to her Trusted List so I can make the change myself.

Thanks Steve

Hi again,

These problems with fake ancestries are one of the reasons why reliable sources are required for pre-1700 profiles. Without reliable sources you can't tell that a lineage is correct. Please see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles and https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Reliable_Sources_for_Pre-1700_Profiles (which includes pages for reliable sources in France and Canada). This is very important. This particular family group (Jacques) has been the subject of Anjou frauds and will have to be sorted out; if the relationships are not confirmed by reliable sources, they may have to be removed (because of Honor Code point 2: Accuracy).

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Hi Daniel,

I accidentally noticed the family group around Deslauriers-227 and I am very concerned. There is a Fichier Origine (a reliable source) that confirms the names of the parents and grandparents of Deslauriers-222 but it does not go further, which means, there is no source for the parents of Deslauriers-227, let alone further ancestors. The family you've connected him to is unsourced and is probably tainted by the work of Gustav Anjou, a notorious author of fake genealogies. The names are familiar to his work and they've linked to lineages he's known to have produced. (continued for lack of space)

Welcome to the County Kerry Sub-Project!

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:County_Kerry

As you may have heard, WikiTree is having a source-a-thon Oct 4 - Oct 7. Whether or not you decide to participate in it is up to you. If you want to help the county Kerry project, it would be great if you could put the unsourced Kerry category on any Kerry profiles you come across that need sources. Thank you!

Daniel, thanks for your interest in profiles of Puritan Great Migration-era persons. These profiles are co-managed by wikitree's Puritan Great Migration project. Please be sure to discuss major changes (such as name changes and spouse attachments) before making them. And please also include source information for changes you want to make. Thank you.

Hi Daniel, I am sure you have realised that there are restrictions on creating and editing pre-1500 profiles which have been developed by the WikiTree community, please don't circumvent these restrictions by creating profiles using before 1500, when the actual birth date is known. Please see this page for more information https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1500_Profiles

I also noticed you have created a number of pre-1700 profiles without adding a source or sources. Although it is tempting to create profiles and go back and add sources later, this is always a bad idea. Particularly with pre-1700 profiles it is essential that at least one reliable source is added at the time the profile is created.

Thank you.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz! Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus coordinating with others is essential.

The Ireland Project seems to fit your research interests. Click the link to read how to join. Or use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find an alternate project.

Please refer to the new recommended sources for citing Pre-1700’s sources. when working on profiles of that time period.

For questions, just ask.

Daniel, Thank you for the Edmonds information. All of my Edmonds relatives were in Tennessee and some moved south to Georgia and Alabama while others moved to Texas. I hope that adds to your information. I have not looked further back than the mid 1800’s. I’m sure they moved to Tennessee from another state before then.
