Biography

Mary Katherine Eckhardt was born in 1880 in an ethnic German enclave in Saratov, Russia, the second daughter and third child of Conrad Eckhardt and Magdalena Fahrenbruch^[1] (an older sister having died in infancy)^[2]. She married George Hofferber^[1][3] in 1898^[4] in Russia. Together they emigrated to America in 1912 with their then children^[5]. They had more children in America^[6][7]. She died in 1953 in Cheyenne, Wyoming^[1], and was buried there^[8].
