Biography

Mary Katherine Eckhardt was born in 1880 in an ethnic German enclave in Saratov, Russia, the second daughter and third child of Conrad Eckhardt and Magdalena Fahrenbruch[1] (an older sister having died in infancy)[2]. She married George Hofferber[1][3] in 1898[4] in Russia. Together they emigrated to America in 1912 with their then children[5]. They had more children in America[6][7]. She died in 1953 in Cheyenne, Wyoming[1], and was buried there[8].
