Carl Ebert has Norwegian ancestors
Carl Johan Henrich Fredrich Ebert was born in Germany[1] or Norway about 1816.[2] He was the son of Fredrich Ewers.
Carl lived in Norway.
- 1840/1841: Marriage of Carl Johan Henrich Fredrich Evert and Beathe Caroline Monsen, 25 Oct 1840, Bergen, Bergen, Norway.[3][4] or Carl Johan Henrich Fredrich Ewert and Rakel Carolin Monsen, 03 Jan 1841, Domkirken, Bergen, Hordaland, Norway.[5][6] They were the parents of:
- Emelie Dorothea Carolina, 1840-1928 (died in Chicago, Illinois)
- Julius G, 1842-1926 (died in Elmhurst, Illinois)
- Carl Theodore Wilhelm, 1845-1924 (died in Chicago, Illinois)
- Carl August, born 1847
- Anna Maria Josephine, born 1849
- Martine Christine Mogensine, born 1852
Carl lived in Germany.
- 1867: Deutschland, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Volkszählung[7] where he was a tailor.[1] Carl lived at Prindersmugit 4B. However, Caroline is listed as "single" with her children on the 1865 Norway census.
- The house burned down in 1916. Now in the center of Bergen.
Carl immigrated to the USA.[1] His wife and at least 3 of his children also immigrated to the USA settling in Chicago, Illinois.
Carl died in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, United States, 18 Oct 1888, and is buried at Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois.[1]

Dylan Ebert: So Carl Ebert Jr. was Norwegian, but his ancestry was probably only half Norwegian, and his parents were both half Norwegian. It makes sense, because Bergen had a lot of immigrants from Germany for industry.
