Hi Nicola,
WikiTree's seventh annual 72-hour sourcing marathon is coming soon!! and The Kiwi Crew is participating. The previous Source-a-Thons have been great fun and very productive. To register, post an answer on this Post saying "Yes, I'd like to participate with the KiwiCrew". Once registered, you will receive your Source-a-Thon Bib and badge.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
The Ireland Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

Just been taking another look. The other records seem to show that Alfred is Williams brother. I'm wondering if he put William down as his father because he had bought him up from 5. But then William emigrated in 1875 when Alfred was only 9. Do you know if any of your Williams siblings emigrated with him. in 1881 I have John and Alfred in lodgings in Leicester and working in the boot and shoe industry. Chris
At the moment I have Alfred Pallant ( Pallant-30) linked as the son of James Pallant. Having researched some sources I believe this is a mistake. I will look into this further but at the moment the marriage records show Alfreds father as a William Pallant. Chris (Colwell-593
