Biography

John was born on February 29, 1672. John married Hannah Morton on 6 Jun 1694, and they had three sons, William, John, and Charles.[1] ... John Dyer passed away October 18, 1741. [2]

Non-Compos Mentis

In 1740, his relations and friends asked the probate court to judge him to be non-compos mentis as he was unable to care for himself or his estate. Mr. Samuel Nelson, yeoman, and Mr. Thomas Foster, blacksmith both of Plymouth, were appointed guardians of his estate.[3]

John's (who was deemed unable to take care of his estate) inventory was taken and recorded by his guardians on 1 June 1741 in Plymouth. It included "an Indian girl's time"[4]

He died on 18 October 1741.

Probate

After his death, John's inventory was again taken on 21 May 1742. Included is the "an Indian girls time". The estate debts and charges were also recorded, and the guardians paid.[5]

In 1742, his widow Hannah received necessary items from his estate, including the Indian girl's time.[6]
