THE OKLAHOMAN (Oklahoma City, OK)
5/10/1930 DUNLAP WOUND PROVES FATAL (Saturday)
Bandit Suspects Trailed In Shooting of City Paint Firm Official.
Fred Dunlap, vice-president of the Western Paint Co., died Friday night from a gunshot wound inflicted by bandits in a robbery west of the city Thursday night.
Following a trail which leads to widely separated parts of the state and into Texas, police Friday night believed they had a clue to identify one of the bandits.
Dunlap, in Oklahoma City General hospital, failed to rally from a blood transfusion made Friday afternoon.
Both city and county officers have been hampered in their attempt to trail the bandits by inability of Dunlap to talk or obtain much definite information from Lola Olvey, café cashier, who was with him at the time.
The woman will be questioned further "as soon as her nerves have settled," Charles A. Becker, chief of police, said, in an effort to get a better description of the two bandits.
Dunlap's body is at Street and Draper funeral home, 920 North Robinson avenue.
