Joseph was born on April 19, 1793, the son of Pierre Dubreuil and Catherine Desnoyers. He was baptized the next day at Saint-Enfant-Jesus-de-la-Pointe-aux-Trembles.[1]
He married Catherine Archambault, daughter of Jacques Archambault and Thérèse Archambault, on 13 November 1815 at L'Enfant-Jésus-de-la-Pointe-aux-Trembles. [2]
