Murray Lloyd DREW was born on 14 March 1909 in Young, New South Wales, Australia^[1]. His parents were Harold Charles DREW and Constance Gwen LLOYD.

2 July 1940, Murray enlisted in the Australian Army; Service Number: VX42624^[2][3]. He was assigned to the 2/8 Australian Infantry Battalion, attained the rank of Lieutenant and was discharged on 11 November 1946.
