Stephen b. 18 Sep 1768[3] Prince George's Co., Maryland[1][2][3] s/o James Drane (abt. 1715 - 1787) and Elizabeth Smith Piles (abt. 1730 - aft. 1785).[3][2] Alternative birth date is 04 Sep 1768.[2][1]

In 1793, Stephen lived in Upper Marlborough, Prince George's Co, MD.[4]

Stephen m. 24 Dec 1793 Prince George's Co, MD Priscilla Sprigg Crabb[5] b. 11 Jun 1765 Prince George's Co, MD d. 14 Nov 1831 Shelby Co., KY[1][2][3] d/o Edward Crabb and Ursula Sprigg.[1][3] Alternative first name for father is Robert.[2] The Crabbs and the Spriggs were both prominent families in Prince George's Co.[2] They were married in Upper Marlboro, Prince George's Co, MD.[6]

1801-40 KY Life

In 1801, the Drane family settled in Shelby Co, KY in an area that would later become Shelbyville, the county seat. It is located half way between Louisville and Frankfort.[2]

In 1810 Shelby Co, KY the Drane household consisted of 11 people: 2 white males <10yo, 2 white males 10-15 yo, 1 white male 26-44 yo, 1 white female 16-25 yo and 5 slaves.[7]

On 07 Aug 1820 Shelby Co, KY the Drain[sic] household had 12 people: 2 white males 10-15 yo, 1 white male 26-44 yo, 1 white male >45 yo, 1 white female >45 yo and 7 slaves.[8]

In 1830 N. of the road from Louisville to Frankfort, Shelby Co, KY the Drane household consisted of 17 people: 1 white male <5 yo, 1 white male 20-29 yo, 1 white male 60-69 yo, 1 white female 20-29 yo, 1 white female 60-69 yo and 12 slaves.[9]

In 1840 Shelby Co, KY the Drane household consisted of 12 people: 2 white males <5 yo, 1 white male 5-9 yo, 1 white male 10-14 yo, 1 white male 30-39 yo, 1 white male 70-79 yo, 1 white female 30-39 yo and 5 slaves.[10]

1844 Death

Stephen d. 04 Dec 1844 Shelby Co., Kentucky[1][2][3] and is buried in Eminence Cem, Eminence, Henry Co, KY.[3]
