In 1908, Gaetano lives in New York. His brother, Ignazio, joins him, arriving in New York on 14 March 1914 on the Sant’Anna. He is 5’7”. Ignazio leaves his father, “as above,” referring to lines naming Giuseppa Russo. He is joining his brother Gaetano at 337 E 106th St, New York.[3]

In 1912, Gaetano sails under the surname "Adragna" on the SS San Giorgio.[4]

Gaetano is also called Tommaso, or Tom, a common Americanization of the Sicilian nickname "Tanu" for Gaetano. According to Bill Feather, Gaetano is also known as "Tom Allen" in the United States.

He is 26 (b. 1889) when he marries Vitulia Torisco (later called "Julia"), age 19 (b. 1896), daughter of Luigi Torisco and Caterina Grazio, on 5 December 1915 in Manhattan.[5]
