Maria Magdalena was born or baptised on 4 January 1899, according to her death certificate. She was possibly the daughter of Michael George Doubell and Maria Margaretta Van Eden . There are no birth records to support this. The initials of her parents on her marriage record are MG and MM Doubell.
She married Rudolph Martinus Johannes Britz in 1917 in Port Elizabeth [1]

She may have been the daughter of Michael George Doubell, the brother of Robert Charles Doubell, and Maria Margaretta Van Eden. No birth records to support this found after scrupulous searching. A possibility is that she was not baptised. The signature of her parents on her marriage record are MG and MM Doubell. However there a few Michael George Doubells in the wider family born around the same period in roughly the same area.
