Harriet Dickason was born in about 1800. She was the daughter of Thomas Dickason[1].
She married Sir William Clay, 1st Baronet (the son of George Clay and Mary Moorsom) on 26 September 1822 at St. George, Bloomsbury, Middlesex, by Licence[1]. Notice of their marriage was printed on page 8 of The News (London) dated 29 September 1822:
MARRIED.
On Thursday, William Clay, jun. Esq. of Russell-square, to Harriet, daughter of Thomas Dickason, Esq. of Montague-street, Russell-square.[2]
They went on to have eight children.
In the 1851 England Census enumerated on 30 March 1851, Harriet Clay (aged 49) was recorded living with her husband Wm Clay (58) and their children Harriett Clay (25), Mary Clay (24), Sarah Frances Clay (22), Arthur T Clay (8) and Laura Felicia Clay (15) at Twickenham, Middlesex. Also in the household was one visitor, one Governess and 17 servants[3].
Lady Harriet Clay died on 19 December 1867[4]. Notice of her death was printed on page 2 of the Newcastle Journal dated 23 December 1867:
At Eaton Square, London, on the 19th inst., aged 67, Lady Clay, wife of Sir William Clay, Bart.[5]
She was buried on 24 December 1867 at Kensal Green Cemetery, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Greater London, England[6].
