- There seems to be a progression to the last name of Diamond.
- Ruth Diamond Kirkland told a story that she says she heard from her grandparents, Barney and Sally Diamond. The story is about how George Drummond was from Elmira, NY. He may have changed their name from McMaster(s) to Diamond. The story goes on to say that a stolen horse may have been the reason for them leaving Elmira, NY and going to SC.
