Joseph Aurèle Despres was born on 6 Aug 1900^[1] in Cocagne, Kent, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Philibert Despres (1864 - 1956) and Eveline Cormier (1871 - 1960).^[2]

On 18 August 1947, widowed Aurèle married Marie-Louise Gauvin, daughter of Abraham Gauvin and Léonie Auffrey, in Saint-Anselme, New Brunswick. ^[6]

Joseph died in Cocagne.
