Biography
Marie Brigitte was born 8 May 1781 and was baptized 28 May 1781 in St-Louis de Kamouraska. Parents were Louis Deschamps (IGD file drops the "s" at the end but I believe it is present in the body of the text and certainly is present in the margin) and Marie Brigitte Deguire dite Bourgelas. Godparents were Antoine Morel and Marie Joseph Deguire dite Bourgelas, no signatures. [1]
On 8 Feb 1802, in St-Louis de Kamouraska, Binjamin Rioux son of Vincent Rioux and the late Julienne Drouin married Marie Brigitte Dechamp minor daughter of Louis Dechamp and Marie Josephte Deschêne (the record here is a mistake, this can only be Marie Josephe Deguire dite Bourgelas, there is no other close couple of this name in the time and place). Witnesses include both fathers and many brothers and sisters of the couple. No signatures. [2]
Marie Brigitte Deschamps, 74 year old widow of Benjamin Rioux, died 17 Apr 1855. She was buried 2 days later in Notre-Dame-des-Neiges de Trois-Pistoles cemetery. [3]
