Biography

Christoffel was baptized with the given name Johan Christoffel on 9 June 1717 in the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston, New York. His parents were recorded as Johann Chrisstoffel and Anna-Christina [surname not given]. Witnesses were Juriaan Beem, Willem Douty, and Zonya Spykerman. ^[1]

Christophel Dennemarck and Lea Swartwood were married in the Reformed Dutch Church of Walpeck in the Minisink Valley on 26 July 1741. According to the marriage record, Christophel was born at Rosendal and Lea was born at Pipeck. At the time of their marriage, both lived at Smithfield. Neither had been married previously.^[2]
