Biography
Mary Denison was born 6 Nov 1757 at Stonington, Connecticut. She was the eighth child of Esther (Wheeler) & Daniel Denison.
She married:
- 1) Jeremiah Holmes [b. 19 Nov 1751, son of Capt. John & Hannah (Hulse) Holmes; d. 8 Apr 1790]; they had 6 children:
- Mary Holmes, b. 8 Oct 1778; married Thomas Crary; d. 9 Mar 1862
- Philura Holmes, b. 14 Sep 1780; married Theophilus Baldwin
- Jeremiah Holmes, b. 6 Sep 1782; married Ann Borodell Denison
- Esther Holmes, b. 27 Mar 1785; married 1) Joel Marsh; 2) Joshua Blodgett; d. 6 Jun 1870
- Daniel Holmes, b. 17 Sep 1787; married Melinda Lee Pettis; d. 7 Jan 1857
- Frederic Holmes, b. 19 Feb 1789; married ___ Pettis
After Jeremiah Holmes died, Mary Denison married--
- 2) In 1797 to Jedediah Lee. They relocated to Stanstead, Quebec, where they had at least 2 children:
- Erastus Lee, b. 1798; d. 21 Mar 1866
- Lucy Lee, b. 1 Jan 1801; married Benjamin Pomroy
Mary (Denison/Holmes) Lee passed away 28 Apr 1828 at Stanstead, Quebec.
