Franklin A. Dennison [sic] was the valedictorian at the 11 June 1890 commencement exercises for the class of 1890, Union School of Law, Chicago, Illinois, having had the highest scholarship.
Frank was the first African American soldier to rise above the rank of Colonel.
Frank died in 1932 and is buried in Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois.

1900 Census includes an incomplete entry with his mother in San Antonio and a full entry with his wife Alice in Chicago, Illinois.
He passed away in 1932.
