The biography for Harold Decuir is empty. What can you add? Added by Harold Joseph Decuir. I was born in Beaumont, Jefferson Co., TX to Paulain and Ruth Marie Adair Decuir on August 25, 1940, which was a Sunday. I am the oldest of seven children: three boys and four girls. In August 1947, I moved to San Angelo, Texas as a result of my mothers health. She suffered from Asthma and could barely walk when Paul took her, first to Kerrville, Texas and after one week to San Angelo, Texas. Ruth was in San Angelo for three days and walked four blocks into downtown and back to her apartment. She went from a predicted one year to live to an additional 29 years, and three additional children. I went through the first grade at St. Anthony's Elementary School in Beaumont, Texas. The family moving to San Angelo was in time for me to enter the second grade at Immaculate Conception Academy. An interesting note: St. Anthony's allowed the first grade students make their First Communion at the end of May. In San Angelo the students made their First Communion in December of their second grade. I really thought I was something special since for the first four months of the second grade I was the only 2nd grader that went to communion.

Those sound like some fascinating family lines! We have a couple projects I think might be able to help you with those. One is our Louisiana Families project led by Philip Smith, which focuses on the founding families of Louisiana. The other project that sounds right up your alley is the Acadians project led by Annette Cormier. Both can help you see if any of those ancestors are already on WikiTree and help with some of the naming guidelines we have to help things standardized across the site. Thanks for being a part of our community! let me know if you have questions.

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Let me know. I can help you figure out if there's a project and introduce you to the project leaders.
