Ellen Debnam was born in 1859. She was the daughter of blacksmith, Martin Debnam and Ann Ridler. Ellen's birth was registered in Epping, Essex, England. [1] In 1861, Ellen was residing with her parents and unnamed baby sister in Harlow, Essex. There was also a nurse at the residence who may have been there for the baby. [2] In 1871 the family was still living in Harlow. The family had grown by four and Ellen's unnamed sister from 1861 had since been named Maria. [3]
1891 census living at 9 Barnfield Road, Lambeth, listed as Watcham in the 1891 census.
Is a widow in the 1901 census, living at 78 Hargwyne St, Lambeth, London, occupation Dressmaker
