Edna Mae Devillier, daughter of Oscar Coulon DeVillier and Marie Argentine Rivette, was born on 18 October 1918 in Chambers County, Texas, United States.^[1][2] She was enumerated in Ellis Village, Acadia Parish with her parents and siblings during the 1930 census, attending school.^[3] In 1940 the family lived at 626 Elmore Ave East in Crowley, Acadia Parish. During the week before the census was taken, Edna May worked 48 hours as a clerk for a retail general store, and had earned $572 in 1939. She had completed four years of high school.^[4]

She married Ferdinand Joseph Leonards, son of H. Leo Leonards and Mary Olinger, on 18 February 1941.^[2]

Edna Mae died at age 94 on 25 July 2013, and was buried at Fairview Cemetery in Winnie, Chambers County, TX.^[2]
