Jacques was born between 1630 and 1640. He passed away in 1699.[1] Jacques moved the family, with his father Evereaud
(Evremond) Purcell de Bourdeaux, (or DuBoudeaux), and mother Catherine along with his wife and three daughters first to Canterbury, County of Kent, England, then London from Grenoble, France. In 1677 or 1679 Jaques and his wife and three daughters shipped to Charles Town in Carolina.
Liste des Frânçois et Suisses, From an old manuscript list of French and Swiss Protestants, settled in Charleston, on the Santee, and at Orange Quarter, in Carolina, who desired naturalization, prepared probably about 1695-6. DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships.
It is likely that these
autosomal DNA
test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jacques:
Jacques is listed by 2 fathers, neither is linked here. DeBourdeaux-3, Evremond De Bourdeaux, is listed as father, and brother to De Bourdeaux-10, Evereaud Purcell De Bourdeaux, also listed as father with same wife.. Anyone with sources to figure out who is who? My family docs say Evremond, but additional ancesters are not included
De Bourdeaux-12 and DeBordeaux-10 appear to represent the same person because:
Birth place is the same. Birth years are a little off. Same with name of wife (but they sound the same when spoken aloud). They do both share a child Anthoine.
The parents listed in the bio of DeBordeaux-10 match up with the parents already connected to De_Bourdeaux-12. Death date is the same. Death place of De_Bourdeaux-12 is listed as Charleston, SC which I'm guessing is the same as the "Charles Town in Carolina" DeBordeaux-10 sailed to.
As far as which version of the last name is correct, I can't be of much help. It seems all the info is passed down personally or on Ancestry, which I don't have access to.
I just adopted Jacques de Bourdeaux, 1630, Grenoble, France. (De-Bourdeaux-9). This De_Bourdeaux-1 needs to be merged with it and the usage of de Bourdeaux, De Bourdeaux or DeBourdeaux made consistent.
