Vera Florence Dawson was born in 1900 at Murrurundi, New South Wales (Australia). She was the daughter of Frederick William Dawson and Gertrude Jane unknown. [1]
Then a 22-year old theatre employee, Vera married First World War veteran and career Army officer Frederick Galleghan on 18th November 1922 in the Baptist Tabernacle, Cooks Hill, Newcastle. [2] They would remain childless. Frederick retired as a highly-decorated Major General who had been a prisoner-of-war of the Japanese in the Second World War. They made their home in Mosman, on the Sydney Harbour northern shore.
Vera passed away, aged about 67 years, in 1967 in St Leonards, New South Wales. [3]
