Biography
Son of James Davis and Rhoda Coddington.
Married Ann Maria Chrisman in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana, 20 Mar 1842. Married two other times.
He came to Linn County, Oregon from Indiana in 1853.
Father of James F. Davis, Barton Warren Davis, John Chrisman Davis, William E. Davis, George Cass Davis, Oliver Marion Davis, Jasper P. Davis, Charles Albert Davis, Mary Catherine Davis, Elizabeth Harriet Davis and Leander Jefferson Davis.
He was in the Oregon State Asylum at the time he died, being sent there about two years before his death. His mind went unhinged after he failed to provide security for some friends who defaulted on their debts, and he lost all he had.
