Perry Thomas Lindsay Lot Davis was born on 30 Nov 1894 in Mount Barker, South Australia, Australia. He was a son of Daniel Davis and Maud Loveday Edith Adela Mitchell.[1]
Perry enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (Australian Army) on 7 January 1915 and was assigned Regimental Number 760 in the 11th Light Horse Regiment.[2]
He embarked on A30 HMAT Borda from Adelaide on 23 June 1915 as part of the 11th Light Horse, 1st reinforcements.[3] In August, his squadron was transferred to the 9th Light Horse Regiment and saw service on the Gallipoli Peninsula. He returned to 11th Light Horse on 22 February 1916 following withdrawal from Gallipoli.[2]Perry was Wounded in Action on 13 November 1917 at Termos Hill in Palestine. He was admitted to the 14th Australian General Hospital on 16 November.[2][4]
He died as a consequence of these wounds on 27 November 1917 at 45th Stationary Hospital El-Arish E.E.F. Egypt and was initially buried at Masaid Military Cemetery Grave 3 El Aribh. On 20 December 1919 his remains were exhumed and re-interred in El Arish Military Cemetery, Al Qantarah, Shamal Sinai, Egypt, southwest of Gaza. On 16 December 1921 the grave was moved again, to the established military cemetery at Kantara (Row E grave 80) El-Qantarah el-Sharqiyya, AL Isma'iliyah, Egypt for the purpose of concentration. [2]
His name was recorded on the War Memorial nominal roll as Percy Thomas Davis.[5]

Trooper Perry Thomas Davis, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Davis, of Hindmarsh Island, died of wounds in Palestine on November 27. He was born at Mount Barker on November 30, 1894. He enlisted at Murray Bridge four months after the war broke out, and left with the 9th Light Horse from Queensland. He was at the second Gallipoli landing, and after serving there in the trenches until the evacuation, he returned to Egypt, where he was six months on the sick list. After that he was on active service in Egypt, Mesopotamia and Palestine, where he was shot in the chest. His bright disposition and upright life won him a large circle of friends.
