Biography
The son of James David Davis (1859-1918) and Martha Vianna Franks (1865-1918), Lee Davis was born in Gillises Mills, Tennessee[citation needed] in 1893, residing with his family in Civil District 7.[1] In 1910, they lived in Civil District 2, Savannah.[2] His siblings included;

Lee married Hester (Franks) Davis, the daughter of Lewis Alexander Franks and Sarah Caledonia Franks, marrying in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 24, 1912,[3] having seven known children together:

Lee registered for the World War I draft when he was 22, registering in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 5, 1917.[4] He stated that he lived in Gillises Mills, Tennessee and that he worked as a farmer. Lee was described as a slender man, of medium height, with dark hair and blue eyes; he did not enlist.
Lee and his family continued to make their home in Gillis Mills, farming,[5] residing by 1930 in Hardin County's Civil District 5.[6] In 1940, Lee and his family lived in Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee, outside of Savannah. He later also worked as a merchant and served as a Magistrate Judge at the Hardin County Courthouse in Savannah.[7][8]
Lee Davis passed away at the age of 77, residing last in Savannah, Tennessee,[9] and is buried at Hardin County Memory Gardens in Savannah.[8]
