Biography

This profile is part of the Llangadog, Carmarthenshire One Place Study.

Morgan was born about 1805 in Llangadock {Llangadog}, Carmarthenshire, Wales[1][2][3] and baptised 5th May 1805 at Llangadog, Carmarthenshire, Wales the son of David[4] Morgan Davies, Tinker and Anne Davies[5].

Morgan Davies, bachelor married Anne Hughes, spinster on the 26th September 1826 at Langadog, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Witnessed by Rees HUGHES, John WILLIAMS & Henry LEWIS[6]

In 1826, Morgan and Anne were living at Penbout Carregsawthey[7] but moved to Aberbran by 1829[8]

Morgan's first wife Anne died in 1844 and was buried 30th January 1844 at Llangadog, Carmarthenshire, Wales[9].

Morgan married Hannah Prothero on the 3rd February 1846 at Llangadock, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Morgan DAVIES, widower, labourer of Aberbran, son of David DAVIES (Fisherman) and Hannah PROTHERO, spinster of Red Lion, daughter of John PROTHERO (labourer). Witnessed by David DAVIS and David LEWIS[4]
