I am the founder of GenealCymru. GenealCymru is a digital genealogy community and media-production company aimed at supporting Welsh people living in Wales and in the diaspora in finding and learning about our ancestors. GenealCymru’s goal is to create a space for people to learn about Welsh culture and history online while also developing skills for doing genealogy.
I grew up in a Welsh/Canadian family listening to stories from my Grampie of his life in Cwmrhydyceirw, South Wales and his interest in reconnecting to lost ancestors. GenealCymru emerged from a personal family history research, built on the foundation of those family stories and combined with academic training in research, writing, and teaching.
I hold a Masters in Anthropology, 2015, and a Bachelor of Arts (honours) in Anthropology with major in Hispanic studies, 2014. I also have 6 years of additional years of academic training in writing and research. My genealogical work, so far, has covered Welsh, English, Canadian, US, Jamaican, and Icelandic records.
You can find me @GenealCymru on Youtube (a new video every two weeks), Twitter, and Facebook.

Wales Project Semi-Annual Check-In
Thank you for being a member of the Wales Project. You may recall membership requires at least one contribution to project goals during each 6-month period. A contribution includes creation of and modification to Wales related profiles.
Have you been able to contribute?
It is recognized some members are active. Thank you for your work. (There is no viable method to determine which members have been active in the Wales Project.)
Please respond to this message by posting a reply in Comments below or sending me a private message. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Stuart Awbrey, Membership Coordinator

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
