Peter McLean Davidson was born in 1901 at Lisbane, County Down, Ireland.
Peter married Ivy Reilly in 1930 at Queensland.[1]
On 15th July 1940 at Murgon, Queensland, Peter was commissioned as a medical officer in the Second Australian Imperial Force during the Second World War.[2] Attached to the 2/12th Australian Field Ambulance, he was deployed as part of Gull Force to Ambon Island, Netherlands East Indies in 1941. There, he became a prisoner of war of the Japanese when they overran the island in February 1942.He was killed during a 'friendly' air raid on 15th February 1943 whilst a prisoner of war on Ambon Island. At the time, Peter was the last Australian medical officer on the island, others having been transferred to Hainan (China).[3]
