Arthur Sydney Davey was born about 1865 in Bressingham, Norfolk, England, the son of Emily (Tricker) Davey and Thomas Davey.^{[citation needed]}

He married Annie Maria King on 3 January 1893 in Brighton, Victoria, Australia.^{[citation needed]} Their children were:

• Sydney Ward Davey (1894–1949)^[1]
• Allan Norman Davey (1896–1967)^[2]

Arthur died on 14 December 1929 in East Melbourne, Victoria, aged 64 years.^[3]
